This painting highlights Southern California’s quintessential and symbolic Palm trees sometimes called “Sky Dusters.” This piece was painted on a blustery January morning looking up in wonder to the sky after a winter storm. I can still feel the crisp air coming in from the ocean drying the paint quickly on the paper, the height and grandeur of these historic trees looking down like guardians on all below.
The original was painted in plein-air on rough watercolor paper. The fine art giclee is printed locally and highlights the detail and texture of the original painting.
